Class Record: Shinnenjutsu + Hanbojutsu + Shime Waza

Class: Thursday  4th Sept

We started off the class with some non-basic omote gyaku which led into the area of controlling the opponents perception with subtle distance, angles and timing. Often other gyaku waza  would then emerge from this sort of training. Adding strikes and kicks would further interupt uke’s intention.

After break we looked at various hanbo techniques and could incorporate some of the above ideas, as well as look at the technical locks and holds with the 3ft staff including a couple of chokes. A brief talk on the dangers of chokes/strangles was necessary here too.
