Beginners Week 7

November 6, 2007

In this, the second last week, we concentrated on rolling, kamae and striking. We did our back and front rolls plenty of times and included picking up objects to make us stretch out more. I got people to go though the 4 kamae in the syllabus and they did them in a flowing manner and used the wall sometimes to look at the structure. I got people to go into hicho no kamae form being pushed –  a good way to show its transitory nature.

The three stiking kata  allowed everyone to practice the kamae again in context. These kata also contain all the striking fists that we have in this syllabus so we used the pads as well to practice these. In the end we practiced some wrist locks just to get the feet moving more.

The last beginners class is next Saturday 3-4pm AND Monday 6.45-7.45pm
